German Officer
While traveling through Germany in 2009 with my family. We stopped at an antique store on our way to Rothenburg ob der Tauber. This antique store was not an organized shop, but an ecclictic collection of historical memorabilia. I was searching through a section of the store and came across about 100 glass plate negatives of a cross section of German life. I purchased three of the plates but did not have capability to adequately scan them until my Epson V500 scanner arrived today. This is a scan of one of those plates. The owner estimated that it came from around 1870 based on the man's attire - right around the time of the unification of Germany under Prince Wilhelm.
