This is the new lens that I recently purchased. It is a Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED Lens. Focus is quick and sharp on this lens. It was introduced first in July 2003, so not a new lens. For those of you still thinking in analog terms, 17mm in digital is only about a 26mm lens in 35mm - so not an extremely wide angle lens.
