Flatland by Edwin A. Abbott

Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions is an 1884 science fiction novella by the English schoolmaster Edwin Abbott Abbott. As a satire, Flatland offered pointed observations on the social hierarchy of Victorian culture. However, the novella's more enduring contribution is its examination of dimensions; in a foreword to one of the many publications of the novella, noted science writer Isaac Asimov described Flatland as "The best introduction one can find into the manner of perceiving dimensions."   I was loaned a copy from a co-worker nearly 3 years ago now.  I am endeavoring to read it one more time before I return it.  So what does this book have to do with Photography.   One aspect of photography for me is taking a two dimensional media and conveying three dimensional space, and if you are lucky that fourth dimension which is apprehended through the viewing of your photograph - emotion.  This is an excellent text for examining space and dimension.   I've found an audio version of this book at Internet Archive which is imbedded below.  Digitized copies may also be found on this site in various formats; pdf, Kindle, etc.
